C-1a

The smarter way to feed real food.

Own your pet's bowl.

Before vet bills own you.

What you feed your pet every day decides how long they live and what diseases they develop.

That isn't a theory. It's been studied for decades — much of it funded by the pet food companies themselves.

What the literature actually says.

Lifespan

The Purina Lifespan Study followed Labradors across 14 years and found that caloric restriction extends lifespan and delays joint disease. [1][Kealy 2002, JAVMA]

Cardiac

Diet-associated dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs fed grain-free legume-heavy diets. Taurine deficiency in dogs fed AAFCO-compliant commercial diets. [2][3][4][5][6][Adin 2019, Bakke 2022, Quilliam 2023, Bauer 2011, Backus 2006]

Renal

Periodontal disease severity is associated with chronic kidney disease across hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats. Dehydration on dry-fed diets compounds the load. [7][8][Glickman 2011, Trevejo 2018]

Cardiovascular & Dental

Periodontal disease severity is associated with endocarditis and cardiomyopathy at the population level. Multi-organ histopathology tracks alongside. [9][10][11][Glickman 2009, DeBowes 1996, Niemiec 2011]

Joint

Caloric restriction delays radiographic osteoarthritis. Fish-oil omega-3 supplementation improves weight-bearing and reduces clinical signs of canine osteoarthritis in randomized trials. [12][13][14][15][Smith 2006, Roush 2010, Roush 2010, Fritsch 2010]

Digestibility

Extrusion damages amino acid digestibility versus fresh formats. The protein on the bag is not the protein the body absorbs. [16][17][Geary 2023, Tanprasertsuk 2021]

The studies exist. The bag they sell you doesn't apply them.

The other path isn't better. Unless it's done right.

In a careful evaluation of home-prepared dog diets, 95% of recipes failed at least one essential nutrient against NRC 2006 standards. [18][Stockman 2013, JAVMA]

Muscle meat alone leaves a calcium-phosphorus imbalance and several micronutrient gaps that shift every time the butcher's batch shifts.

Commercial food is built for scale. Home cooking is built for trust. Both can still miss things.

That's the gap Growlrr BowlBalancer™ closes.

You bring the fresh meat, eggs, and the few groceries you already buy. The block completes the math.

The smarter way to feed real food.

You're already feeding better than most.
It still misses things.

If you've ever tried to cook properly for your pet and wondered if something was missing — you weren't wrong.

Fresh food is a strong start. But most feeding methods, even the careful ones, leave small gaps behind. The kind that don't show up in a week.

Growlrr BowlBalancer™ is the missing layer. You bring fresh meat, eggs, and the few groceries you already buy. It completes the math.

You see it over the years.

Most pets don't fail suddenly.
They drift.

First it's a little weight gain. Then the teeth need cleaning earlier than expected. Years later, the vet starts talking about kidneys.

Different problems. Same pattern: small gaps, repeated every day.

In a careful study of home-prepared dog diets, 95% of evaluated recipes failed at least one essential nutrient (Stockman et al., JAVMA 2013). In two large-cohort studies covering over two hundred thousand dogs, periodontal disease severity was associated with measurably higher rates of cardiovascular and kidney conditions (Glickman et al., JAVMA 2009; Prev Vet Med 2011).

These aren't separate diseases. They're the same drift, showing up in different organs, on different timelines.

Most diets don't fail immediately.
They fail slowly.

C-3

Two systems dominate pet feeding.
Both fail. Differently.

Industrial diets — kibble and ultra-processed wet food. High-temperature extrusion (150–180°C) reduces amino acid digestibility versus fresh formats (Geary et al., J Anim Sci 2023). The protein on the bag isn't the protein your pet absorbs. Wet pouches are 75–82% water — most of the calories on the label come from rendered fat or oil, not animal protein.

Home-cooked diets — well-meaning, often incomplete. Muscle meat alone creates a calcium-phosphorus imbalance and several micronutrient gaps. The shortfall shifts every time the butcher's batch shifts (Stockman 2013, above).

Both pathways feed the same downstream pattern: metabolic stress and chronic low-grade inflammation that contribute to obesity, periodontal disease, and the cardiovascular and renal patterns seen in the cohort studies above.

Where the system failsWhat most approaches doWhat BowlBalancer does instead

Two systems. Same downstream cost.
A different approach is possible.

You cook. We complete.

BowlBalancer™. A small, measured block that finishes the math fresh food doesn't.

You keep using fresh ingredients you already buy. We add a 4-gram cold-compressed block that fills what grocery food doesn't reliably provide.

Each critical nutrient is delivered by multiple independent food sources — calcium from several mineral and food matrices, copper and vitamin B12 from organ-derived powders, marine omega-3 from microencapsulated sources, trace minerals from insect-derived and ruminant-derived inputs. Synthetic inclusions are deliberate and limited: thiamine, iodine, and (for dogs) one chelated magnesium for ratio control. The rest is food, ground fine.

No balancing ten nutrients yourself. No chasing recipes. No adjusting every time the butcher's batch is different.

The fun part stays yours. We handle the math you didn't sign up for.

C-5

Fresh food is good.
It's not complete.

What you buy at the store is mostly muscle meat. That's good for protein. That's not the whole diet.

Supermarket meat is exsanguinated, organ-stripped, bone-free. Drained blood removes heme iron. Absent organs remove vitamin A and B12. Missing bones remove the calcium-phosphorus anchor.

Iodine, vitamin D3, taurine for cats — these don't reliably come through fresh muscle alone. Not because the food is bad. Because it isn't whole prey.

Protein shows up reliably from grocery meat. Several essential nutrients don't.

Not everything missing behaves the same way. Some nutrients drift slightly day to day and the body buffers them. Others — the ones above — don't have a household work-around.

The food bill is the second-largest line item in pet ownership.
The medical bill is the first.
We make both lower.

Pet ownership in India has three line items. Acquisition: ₹10,000 to ₹40,000, one-time. Lifetime food: ₹3 lakh to ₹15 lakh across 12 years. Medical bills caused by how you fed: ₹3 lakh to ₹10 lakh and beyond.

The acquisition cost is a rounding error. Industrial food's lower monthly price externalises onto vet bills that arrive at year four.

A 20 kg dog on premium wet food: about ₹55,800/month.

The same dog on BowlBalancer + fresh grocery: about ₹20,800/month.

Wet pouches deliver about 17 grams of protein per ₹155 pouch (most of the weight is water; most of the calories are fat or filler). Per gram of bioavailable animal protein, BowlBalancer comes out cheaper than premium wet food and premium kibble.

GST helps too. Fresh meat is exempt or 5%. The block is 5%. Industrial pet food sits at 18%. Across a 20 kg dog's year, the GST structure alone saves around ₹25,000.

This isn't another pet food.
It's a way to stop things from drifting.

Not by controlling everything. Just the few things that matter.

We don't yet formulate for puppies, kittens, pregnancy, or lactation — those are next. If your pet has a diagnosed condition, talk to your vet first; we'll consult on the formulation alongside, on request.

You bring the food.
